Master Yi On-Hit (Lethal Tempo) Guide
This is Lethal Tempo Master Yi, the on-hit build: Kraken Slayer into Guinsoo's Rageblade, with every fourth attack hitting twice to set both off. None of your damage is up front. It builds with every attack, so you win by arriving once their lockdown is spent and staying alive long enough to ramp. Farm to level 6 and your first item, fight around R, and never walk into a team whose CC is still up. After Rageblade you have all the damage you need, and every item after it keeps you alive.
Runes
Quick Tips
All phases
- •Lethal Tempo is the rune from Emerald up and into beefy teams. In Gold, or into ranged, slippery and squishy comps, play the Hail of Blades build.
- •An R for their R is a trade that favours them. You are the stronger champion, so your R is worth more.
- •Keep attacking, even minions, while you wait. Kraken and Rageblade ramp off every hit.
- •Save Rift Herald for a tower at full health. With Grubs and items you take it in one go.
Skill Priority
Early Game
Before 1st item
- •Your first clear should have you level 4 by 3:01, and by 2:59 once you are Master.
- •Full clear first, and attack, W, attack on every camp. The reset makes the clear faster.
- •Levels 4 and 5 are your weakest window. Farm, and take a 1v1 only when it wins you real gold, not 300 on the way to an item.
- •Gank with Flash and attacks, and keep Q to finish once they run away from their minions.
- •Hit 6 and your ganks change: the speed from R gets you on top of them without Flash.
First Back

Regular full clear & crab
Core Build Examples

Mid Game
1-3 items
- •Kraken Slayer, then Rageblade. Base the moment the next one is affordable, and never fight with it sitting in your pocket.
- •Track three timers, R, Flash and your next item, and fight when all three are ready together.
- •Scrappy 2v2 and 3v3 fights are where you shine. Let the enemy commit to your team, then come in and clean up.
- •Once you are ahead, fight. Sitting in a bush with a two item lead wastes the spike you built.
- •Start the objective yourself, so Rageblade and P are stacked before the fight begins.
Situational

Late Game
4+ items
- •Even or ahead, fight with your team. Behind, split and farm to your next item.
- •Go in when your team engages, on whoever you can reach, and look for the resets.
- •Go around their tank for an angle on the carry. Killing the frontline means nothing if the backline kills you on the way.
- •Hexplate makes R come back sooner, so every fight gets planned around R.
- •Three items is a fast solo Baron. Check the enemy jungler's respawn first.
