Rammus Guide
Rammus is all about a good early game. The kit is simple on purpose: Q rolls you in fast, E taunts, and W turns every hit you take into damage back. So the skill on Rammus is not mechanics and it is not farm. It is picking the teammate you are going to make fed and then standing next to them. Aftershock and Thornmail make W your damage, and every armor and magic resist item after that makes you both harder to kill and more dangerous to hit.
Runes
Quick Tips
All phases
- •You are a heavy ganker. Look to make plays through your winning lanes.
- •Your one goal on Rammus is to get one teammate ahead and keep playing through them.
- •Play Rammus like Nunu: gank as often as you can, and never measure yourself by CS.
- •It is very easy to go in deep and die. Be patient and stay on your teammate's screen.
- •Triumph heals you on every takedown, and that health goes further behind W's armor and magic resist.
- •Think before you cancel W: cancel it when you need the movement speed back or when Q is up.
Skill Priority
Early Game
Before 1st item
- •Rammus is all about a good early game: spend these levels making plays around the lane that is winning, not farming quietly.
- •Your first clear should have you level 4 by 3:19, and by 3:31 once you are Master.
- •Path toward the lane you want to play through. If it is volatile, get level 3 first, then gank.
- •Aim Q to hit every monster in a camp: from the front on wolves and krugs, and between the two small raptors in the middle to tag the whole camp.
- •As a camp gets low, save Q and roll to the next one instead. The walking time you save is worth more than the damage.
- •Legend: Alacrity and your empowered autos are what carry you through gromp and blue, the single target camps where Rammus is slowest.
- •Look at the lanes and hold Tab. Information is what tells you which lane to play for.

Core Build Examples

Mid Game
1-3 items
- •Pick your fed teammate and match their clock: fight when they fight, base when they base.
- •Your job is enabling that ally, never denying the enemy jungler. Their red buff is not worth leaving your carry alone.
- •Farm is the least of your worries. The best Rammus players barely prioritize CS.
- •Sit in the bush where the enemy has to walk to clear the next wave, then use Q's speed to punish them the moment they commit.
- •After you base, run down a lane with the Homeguard speed and R onto a laner who has pushed toward your side. The line on the ground shows where the Homeguard speed ends.
Situational

Late Game
4+ items
- •Never stray far from your fed teammate, and when they dive in, dive with them.
- •Only R to engage when you know your teammate is right behind you.
- •Face tank for your carry: stand in the bush with them and eat the threat so they can just hit things.
- •Once Aftershock and W are down, back off for a second and wait for W before you go back in. Standing still without them is how a high damage carry melts you.
- •R is your escape as much as your engage. It is a leap, so it gets you out of a fight you should not be in.
